Around 165 students of the Union Government run Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyalaya (JNV), Bundi, a residential school meant for poor and rural students, have scripted success in the JEE Advanced 2015. A feat which was made possible with the help of free coaching provided under a joint initiative undertaken by Resonance Coaching Institute of Kota with the assistance of Dakshina Foundation.
This year alone, a total of 50 students from JNV Bundi have been selected in JEE Advanced, 2015. Principal of the JNV, Bundi, Ratan Lal Mali says, “It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that 50 students out of batch of 56 students of JNV, Bundi have cracked JEE Advanced, this year. Last year, total 47 students had achieved success in IIT-JEE out of 52 students.”
The joint initiative started in 2009, which initially saw 17 students getting selected for JEE. The numbers since then have been soaring.
Coaching for IIT-JEE is considered a privilege of the students hailing from affluent families, but for this group of students, coaching in the engineering hub, has been made possible only because of the initiative. And these students of JNV, Bundi have made the best use of this free coaching facility provided to them by Resonance Coaching Institute of Kota for cracking IIT-JEE.
Managing Director, Resonance Eduventures Private Limited, Kota, R K Verma said that their institute along with Dakshina Foundation are providing free coaching to the students of JNV, Bundi from last six years under their social initiative whereby both the organizations bear the coaching fees jointly. “The faculty of Resonance Coaching institute used visit the students daily in order to provide free coaching to them,” he said.
Jitendra Singhadia, a student from the school said, “We have made it in IIT-JEE with the help of free coaching, otherwise it would not have been possible for students like me.”
This school is run by Union Human Resource Development Ministry wherein students are categorized in 16 different categories including caste reservation categories of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Castes and others. However, all the students certainly came from modest financial background.
