‘SSC Tier 2 exam is not cancelled’

SSC

PaGaLGuY caught up with K B Jagtap, Western Regional Director, SSC for a quick Take 5.

Will the tier 2 examination be held at all?

The tier 2 examination has not been cancelled. The exam has been postponed & the new date will be announced by SSC HQrs soon.

Some changes expected in the ensuing notifications, online exams, pattern change?

Policy decisions are taken at Commission’s HQrs at New Delhi. Wait for the changes if any. However application for Constable GD 2015 has been made online & option for online exam also introduced in notice of exam. Any changes in exam pattern or intended will be brought by SSC HQrs at New Delhi for the Commission as a whole & not specific to Western Region.

Why do so many aspirants choose Mumbai as a centre?

Mumbai as such is not a favourite when it comes to choosing centres. However under the pretext of choosing Mumbai as center people tend to explore Mumbai being a commercial capital.

Any tips for aspirants?

Candidates wishing to appear for SSC exams & aspiring for a Government job should take the examination process seriously right from the filling up of the applications to appearing for the exam. Candidates should refer employment news or commission’s website for authentic information of SSC exams instead of approaching local vendors/cyber cafes. Hard work, regular practice & smart preparation can help candidates to crack the exam.

A peculiar trend in more rural places is that vendors often also fill forms for the candidates?

Candidates should read exam notice carefully before applying for the exam and Fill the form personally with due care instead of relying on friend/relatives. Sometimes, ‘wrong’ or misleading information is jotted on the form because of miscommunication Result are uploaded on commission’s website from time to time, so candidates are requested to refer the commission website for result i.e ssc.nic.in  or www.sscwr.net.
