Such students were offered job profiles related to Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Quantitative Finance, Corporate Banking, Project Finance, Treasury, Risk Management, Business Intelligence, Sales & Marketing and Banking Operations. Some of the prominent recruiters in this domain were Morgan Stanley (MSCI Barra), ICICI Bank, SBI Caps and Tata Teleservices.
The maximum percentage of job offers accepted was in the field of operations with this sector accounting for 25 percent of the total job offers. Companies such as P&G;, J&J;, Marico, Dr. Reddy’s offered profiles related to SCM, Operations and Manufacturing. TESCO, a UK based retail company made international job offers to students.
The next highest percentage of accepted job offers was recorded in consulting with 24 percent of the batch taking up the role of consultants in organisations such as E&Y;, Deloitte, Emergent Ventures and Inductis. Niche profiles related to Energy Consulting and Carbon Credit Advisory were also offered.
14 percent of the batch accepted job profiles related to marketing. This domain saw participation from companies such as Marico, Genpact, Big 92.7 FM, Schindler, as well as conglomerates such as RPG and Vedanta Group. International Marketing & Management profiles were offered by Peerless Fabrikkerne.
13 percent of the batch accepted offers in the domain of systems. Companies such as Deloitte, Mphasis (EDS), CTS and Infosys BPO offered systems profiles. Battelle, an international science and technology enterprise offered Business Development profiles.
Some of the niche sectors which featured in this seasonas recruitments included Carbon Trading among Analytics Consulting, Technology Consulting, Healthcare, PSUs, Publishing, Entertainment, Engineering/Construction. PSUs actively featured in this seasonas placements. with nearly 12 percent of the batch choosing to start their management careers in government services such as BHEL, COAL India, Power Finance Corporation and SIDBI.
