In today’s era, education has played a significant role for state as well as central government. It has been a continuous effort by the government so that the youth of the country can get employability. Certainly, it has become a difficult task to fulfil the job requirement as the number of candidates per job is increasing significantly. Students from higher education institutes are literally struggling to get a job in their significant area now a days. Similarly, the placement in NIFT has also dropped out
recently in consecutive years.
There are in total 15 National Institutes of Fashion Technology and the college are supposed to place their students once the graduation is completed. Recently, the campus placement by these 15 colleges has fallen significantly. There is a notable fall in the year 2018-2019. There is a fall of 37% in 2018-2019 placement for NIFT Delhi campus as per the reply of Smriti Irani in one of her question- answer counters in the Parliament. In earlier years, the placement was almost 100% whereas this year it is significant low.
Similarly, for Kolkata and Bengaluru, the placement is as low as 50% and 37% in the year 2018-2019 compared to 98% and 97% in 2017-2018. Government will be actively finding out the reason and will strive to find out the solution added by Textile minister, Smriti Irani.
