State Bank of India Clerk (Junior Associates) examination is held by the SBI for recruiting the interested candidates for clerical cadre in various branches across India. Each year, lots of candidates will appear for the exam. SBI clerk exam will be conducted in 2 phases. Firstly the Preliminary examination and the main examination will be conducted. It is mandatory for the candidates to clear both the phase to get recruited for this job.
The notification for 2018 was announced on January 19, 2018. The preliminary examination exam was conducted on June 23, 24 & 30, 2018. There were 8031 vacancies which were low when compared to the previous year. The candidates who qualify in the preliminary exam will be allowed for the main examination and then the selected candidates will be recruited for the job. The prelims exam was conducted for a total of 100 marks comprising of 3 sections, English language, Reasoning ability and quantitative aptitude sections with 30, 35 and 35 marks respectively. The total time duration for this exam was for 1 hour. The candidates must obtain the minimum cutoff marks as fixed by the SBI. The result for the preliminary exam was declared on July 24, 2018. the results can be viewed in both PDF and individual results too. In order to check the results in PDF format, follow the below steps:
- Open the SBI official website and go to the career option
- Select the clerk result page and the PDF file will open in the browser
- Then press Ctrl+F and then search box will appear in which you can type your Registration number and click enter
- Now you can view the result either through PDF file where the complete result will be available

- Provide the required details like your roll number and password or registration number and date of birth
- You can view your individual result now

The candidates who cleared the prelims exam appeared for the mains examination. The mains exam was comprised of 4 sections: English language (40 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (50 marks), reasoning ability & Computer aptitude (60 marks) and General awareness (50 marks). The total marks SBI mains exam is 200 with time duration of 2 hours and 40 minutes. The candidates who were able to qualify the exam by clearing the cutoffs fixed by the bank will be recruited for the job. Following is the main exam and result dates:

The candidates who cleared the main exam by obtaining the cutoffs fixed by the bank will be selected for the next round. Until last year, there was an interview conducted for SBI clerk after the mains exam. But from this year, due to Government rules, there was no interview conducted for 2018. So the candidates selected in the mains examination will be called for Specified opted language test. After this, the final list of selected candidates will be done by the bank. The final list will be on done on the basis of Mains exam and the language test. But the prelims marks will not be considered here as it will be only of qualifying nature.
The result of the main exam can be viewed by following the above-mentioned steps to view the prelims result. The final scorecard will be published a few days after the result declaration.
After the declaration of the final scorecard, the bank also will prepare the merit list. Based on the merit list, it will publish a waiting list for a quarterly basis against resigning and non-joining candidates of only the current batch. It will be published on the SBI official website. The waiting list prepared by the bank will be valid for one year from the final result declaration date.
