Indian Railway is considered to be one of the most demanding Central Government jobs in India. RRB NTPC 2019 has more of the tough competition as lakhs of candidates has applied for few thousand job offers. Railway Recruitment Board conducts the examination in two stages that is Stage 1 and Stage 2. The syllabus for RRB NTPC 2nd stage syllabus and RRB NTPC syllabus for main exam remains the same and the only difference is in the exam pattern. Let’s look at the RRB NTPC Syllabus 2019: –
Candidate should know the detailed NTPC syllabus of each section which is as follows: –
- Arithmetic Ability – This section is added in the exam question paper to test the quantitative aptitude and data interpretation of the candidate. So the topics will include Data Interpretation (Bar Graphs, Pie Charts, Line Graphs, tables etc.), Time & Work, Time & Distance (Boats & Streams, Trains etc.), Pipe & Cistern, Profit & Loss, Margins & Discounts, Simplification, Speed Calculation, Averages, Problems on Age, Linear/ Quadratic Equations, Simple/ Compound Interest, and Area & Volume.
- Reasoning and General Intelligence – It is considered to be the lengthy section of NTPC Railway examination. The topics for this section includes Analogy, Equality/Inequality, Classification of the Odd pair, Syllogism, Alphanumeric Series, Decision Making, Blood Relation, Direction Sense, Visual Reasoning (Pattern Detection, Hidden Images, Embedded Images, Mirror Images, Figure Matrix etc.), Statement Argument, Statement Conclusion, Statement Interference, Problem Solving, Eligibility Test, Verbal & Visual Analysis, Arithmetical Reasoning, Sitting /Circular Arrangements, Puzzles/Complex Arrangement.
- General Awareness – This section of the question paper consists of mixed questions for static GK and current affairs. The topics will include Indian Economy, Indian History, Indian Geography, Indian Railways (Facts & Figures, History), Indian Polity, Indian Culture & Heritage, Current Affairs (National, International. Organizations, Person in News, Deaths & Demises, Awards, Science & Technology, Sports, Government Policies etc.), Static Affairs (National, International, Organizations, Awards & Honours, Science & Technology, Yearbook, Days, Dates etc.)
- General Science – This section consists of basic concepts of the science and candidates can prepare from the old NCERT books. The topics will be included from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Studies.

General Awareness
The questions in this section of RRB NTPC Railway are considered scoring as questions are static and can be remembered easily. This section is less time consuming as either the candidate knows the answer or he doesn’t know the answer. If the candidate is well prepared for this section then the accuracy is generally high as there is less chance of confusion in the options provided for the questions.
