RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) conducts the exam for Non-Technical Popular Categories in Indian Railways. The NTPC job is highly demanding and it is a great opportunity for personal growth also. NTPC includes the jobs like Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, and Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Goods Guard, and Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master. The candidates selected for these posts will be placed in various zonal railways and production units of Indian Railways. There are about 35227 vacancies for the above-mentioned posts.

The candidates for the post of RRB NTPC will be selected on the basis of four stages of tests namely 1st stage Computer-based Test, 2nd stage Computer-based test, Typing Skill test, and Document Verification/Medical Examination.
The exam pattern for RRB NTPC is as follows:
1st stage Computer-based Test:

The duration of the RRB NTPC exam is 90 minutes. Each question carries one mark. There is negative marking of 1/3rd for every wrong answer. 1st stage of the exam is common for all posts. The raw scores of the candidates will be normalized so as to overcome the problem caused by the difference of difficulty level across papers. Based on the normalized scores the candidates will be short-listed for the next round.
2nd stage Computer-based test:

In this test also each question carries one mark. There is negative marking of 1/3rd for every wrong answer. The duration will also be 90 minutes as the 1st stage. The 2nd stage of the exam will be different for different posts.
Computer-based aptitude test
- For Station Master and Traffic Assistant.
Typing skill test:
- For the posts of Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, and Junior Time Keeper the test will be of qualifying in nature.
- The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute in English or Hindi on PC only without spell check facility and editing tools.
The candidates who have applied for the posts of Trains Clerk, Goods Guard, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, senior commercial cum Ticket Clerk, and Commercial Apprentice will directly go for document verification process and also medical examination after the 2nd stage of the exam.
