Railway Recruitment Board has released notification for Junior Engineer posts with 13, 487 vacancies for the year 2019. The candidates who are willing to work in the prominent Indian Railways department have applied for the exam.
Ahead of proceeding to the preparation tips and strategy for the RRB JE exam, it is required for the candidates to be aware of the exam pattern to get a clear knowledge about the exam. The selection process involves 2 stages. They are Computer Based Test (1 & 2) and Document Verification/ Medical examination. The date for the first stage of the Computer Based Test is yet to be announced by the RRB.
Following is the exam pattern for CBT 1:

The stage 1 of CBT comprises of 4 sections and the time duration for the exam will be 90 minutes. They are General Intelligence & Reasoning, Mathematics, General Science, and General Awareness. Each question carries one mark and negative marking of 1/3 for each wrong answer will be deducted.

Preparation tips for RRB JE:
- Syllabus & Exam Pattern:
The first and foremost thing is that the candidates must start their preparation by having proper information regarding the syllabus and exam pattern. Using the syllabus, the candidates can cover maximum of the topics relating to the exam. The exam pattern will aid in knowing the weight-age of marks provided for each section in the exam so that the candidates can prepare accordingly.
- Time management:
Time management is a vital factor in any of the competitive exams. It is necessary during preparation time and during exams too. The candidates must plan and allow proper timings for each subject in order to cover all the sections.
- Mock tests and previous years’ question papers:
Mock tests will be a perfect guide for the candidates preparing for the competitive exams. The candidates can attempt a number of mock tests so that they can improve their performance soon. Using previous years’ question papers, the candidates will be able to know the frequently repeated questions, the difficulty level of the exams, etc.
- Short notes and revision:
The candidates can take notes regarding the subjects and revise it often so that they can them for the long term. Note the important formulas, concepts, and keywords in order to perform well in the exams. also after completing the preparation, it is advisable to revise the topics so that it during exams it would be easy to recollect them.
- Focus on strong and improve on weak areas:
The candidates must focus on their strong areas and try to strengthen them. Find out the weak areas and concentrate more on them in order to improve on it.
- Be calm and composed:
Finally, it is necessary to stay calm and composed before the exams. Just revise the topics prepared and take proper sleep and relax. This will help in performing well in the exams.
