Resonance PCCP Udaipur student Kartikeya Sharma of class 10
has secured the first place in the 2015 State Science Seminar for school
students, held at SIERT Udaipur.
The seminar, on ‘Harnessing Light: Possibilities &
Challenges’, was organized by Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai, in collaboration
with SIERT, Govt. of Rajasthan, earlier this month. The seminar is conducted at
district & state levels in all states and union territories in India, with
the state level winner representing the state at the National Level Seminar.
Kartikeya will represent Rajasthan at the National Level
Seminar, organized by the National Council of Science Museums (Ministry of
Culture, Govt. of India) at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi later this year.
The top 9 students at the All-India level will receive
scholarships for one year and the top 3 students will also represent India at
international seminars.
In 2011-12, another Resonance student, Divyansh Ameta (currently
studying at IIT Delhi), was amongst the top 3 at the National Seminar and
represented India at an international seminar, where he was given an
opportunity to visit Nobel winner Marie Curie’s lab in Paris, sponsored by the
Govt. of India.
