Under its ASHA initiative to encourage students for recreational activities along with studies, the Shri Sevaram Charitable Trust and SR Global University (proposed) associated with Resonance Eduventures Private Limited organized a cricket and volleyball competition for several coaching students and faculty members in which over 150 students participated.
While a total of 127 students participated in the cricket tournament, around 26 students played volleyball in the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium of Kota on January 21. A total of 11 cricket teams were made for T-20 Cricket team including Reso Warriors, Reso Riders, Reso Daredevils, Reso Heroes, Reso Night, Reso Superkings, Reso Champs, Reso Challengers, Reso Victor, Reso Royals and Reso Sunrisers. Reso Warriors clinched the tournament by defeating the Reso Riders team.
A team of the 12 best cricket playing students from all the 11 teams were selected to form Reso Avengers teams who played a friendly T-20 cricket match with the team consisting of Resonance staff and faculty members, named Reso Tigers which was held on January 22. The students emerged winners as the Reso Avengers defeated Reso Tigers. Later, an award ceremony was also held to felicitate best players in the tournament.
The Captain of Reso Riders, Abhishek Kumar said that he enjoyed the match a lot. “Since examination time is reaching near, such sports activities relieves stress and helps in focussing on studies better,” he said.
Another student, Arjun Kumar, who played in the tournament said, “It felt nice to participate in a sports event, as usually, the focus remains on studies. More so, such an event refreshes students.”
Varun Jain, Manager Operations at the proposed SR Global University of Kota and also among the Coordinators of ASHA program of Resonance group, said that ASHA stands for Arts, Sports and Health Activities which is an initiative of Resonance group for facilitating joyful learning to the students so that students can utilize their spare time after their studies in the best possible way. He said that several fun activities and sports events have been organized since the start of the ASHA programme last year.
