During his address, it is expected of him to bring clarity to government’s decisions on repealing special status provided to Jammu and Kashmir and part the state into two union territories, sources have said. His speech will play a vital role and will clear many doubts of the nation.
The last time he addressed the country was on March 27 during the Lok Sabha decisions when he declared that India had exhibited satellite missile (A-Sat) capacity by shooting down a live satellite.
Parliament on Tuesday endorsed a resolution repealing extraordinary special given to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution. It likewise cleared a bill to part the state into two union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
The proposed speech comes days before the prime minister’s address to the country on Independence Day from the parapet of Red Fort.

The Rajya Sabha gave its endorsement to the resolution on Monday.
