Politicians are called as the representatives of people, they are elected by the people to frame policies which will bring prosperity to the very people who elect them. It is a very well known fact that once the politicians come to power they hardly think about the masses instead they think about their own well being. Corruption, Rising inflation bears testimony to this fact.Politicians in India have always managed to camouflage real issues about poverty, unemployment etc either through raising which issues of least importance.
The recent example of Politician cum Actor Raj babbar stating that in Mumbai a person can afford lunch for mere Rs 12 rupees is clearly a case of camouflaging the main issue of rising poverty and inflation in India.Year 2013 saw the Indian Parliament passing the revolutionary Food security bill by providing subsidized foodgrains to poor people. The question is subsidy the permanent solution for growing unemployment, inflation and poverty in India? The answer is a clear “No”. The bill was passed by the government just a year before the general elections to garner electorate votes.
The government managed to show that poverty level in the country has reduced from 37.2% in 2004-2005 to 25.7% in 2011-2012. But it is clear that there is still a lot to do in tackling the main issues. There is huge difference in the realty and the data showcased by the Government.
Politicians should realize that with the recent victory of AAP people are very well aware of the tactics which politicians deploy at the time of elections. It is high time that they stop camouflaging the main issues and start thinking of the masses if they want to stay in power after the general elections of 2014.
