The Prime Minister Research Fellowship (PMRF) scheme emphasises to attract eligible candidates pursuing PhD programs in various Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institutes of Science Education & Research (IISERs), and the Central Universities that are among the top 100 NIRF ranked Universities list in the country to carry out research in the science and technology domains with interest to the National Priorities. The online applications for the PMRF December 2019 have commenced and the portal for online registrations has been activated.
Interested and eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of the Prime Minister Research Fellowship December 2019: dec2019.pmrf.in. The last date for the online registrations of the Prime Minister Research Fellowship December 2019 is on October 15, 2019. The online registration portal for the PMRF December 2019 will be deactivated post 11:30 pm on October 15, 2019. The eligible candidates will be offered admission for a PhD program in any of the IITs/ IISERs/ IISCs/ Central Universities that are among the top 100 NIRF ranked Universities list in the country along with a research fellowship of Rs 70,000 per month for the first two years after the completion of the strict selection process.
PMRF December 2019: Eligibility Criteria
Interested candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria set by the Central Government for the PMRF December 2019 to apply for the PMRF. The PMRF December 2019 eligibility criteria are mentioned below.
- The candidate should have completed a four-year undergraduate program/ five-year integrated M.Sc./ M.Sc./five-year undergraduate-postgraduate dual degree program in the stream of Science and Technology from any IIT/ IISER/ IISC/ Centrally funded IIIT (Candidates pursuing the final year of the above-mentioned courses can also apply).
- The candidate should have a CGPA/CPI of at least 8.0.
PMRF December 2019: How to apply
Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for the PMRF December 2019 by visiting the official website of the PMRF December 2019: dec2019.pmrf.in on or before October 15, 2019. Post which the online registration portal will be deactivated. The stepwise instructions to apply online for the PMRF December 2019 are mentioned below.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the ‘Apply Online’ link to proceed further
Step 3: The link will be redirected to a new webpage, an information bulletin will be displayed on the screen, read it carefully and click on the ‘Please Click here to Apply Online’ link
Step 4: Choose the suitable options and click on ‘Proceed to Section 2’ to proceed further
Step 5: Fill the detailed application form with the required information and submit
Step 6: Upload the scanned copies of the required certificates/ documents, signature and passport size photographs
Step 7: Pay the application fee through the preferred mode
Step 8: Once the application fee is paid, a confirmation message will be sent, save it for future use
