Countdown has started now for all who have appeared for CAT. The heart rate is going up and all aspirants are busy in doing their homework to get a suitable destination institute. For last two years I am constantly interacting with MBA aspirants across the country and found that aspirants formulate their plan to reach at desired destination institute. A common set of questions which strike at brain are related to either cracking admission process ( case analysis, group discussion and personal interview) or finding and prioritizing the institutes which can facilitate their dreams come true.
My suggestion to all aspirants is better they should focus on developing content before the results are out. Content development through reading news papers like Business line is helpful. In case you are not having content to speak during interviews at least you should have opinion to put -up. there are numerous guidelines which you must have gone through from various resources. I need not elaborate.
Here my submission point to guide you when you are going to choose an institute as a platform to reach to your career destinations.
list down the name of institutes for which you are eligible ( CAT/MAT/XAT/G MAT scores).
if you fall among top 10 institutes, you need to crack the admission process with full bang.
if you lie after 10 in the list, you need to do home work on the following variables.
Institute’s faculty profile and infrastructure
institute activity level ( academic, sports, cultural, social, technological and national)
students engagement inside and outside of the institute
Alumni base and alumni activity
Institute’s interaction with the industry and corporates
students say about the institute ( existing and alumni)
Affiliations ( AICTE, UGC/AIU)
visit their website and take views in on-line forums
Don’t rely on
Flowery placement records ( usually escalated one)
Media hype
