Various researches show that the growth in digital economy is 10 times faster than traditional economy. Thus the organizations that are involved in online business are expected to create double employment opportunities.
Digital Marketing opens various career options such as for web designing or content development and so on. The firms involved in digital marketing often encourage lot of free flow of ideas and creativity. The overall atmosphere is quite relaxed as compared to firm involved in the business functions. What are the major job profiles in Digital Marketing?
Digital Marketing Manager or Digital Director:
This is one of the highest position in the field of Digital Marketing. To achieve this position one must at least have 5-7 years of experience in Digital Marketing. The DM Manager/Director looks after the overall marketing development. He has to make strategies to ensure and drive more traffic, look after digital marketing campaigns, make improvements in website and look after updation of website on regular basis.
Web Developer & Web Designer
The term Web developer or web designer is often used interchangeably. These are the people who are responsible for designing of beautiful websites that we see on the internet. The role of web developer/designer is to design, do the coding and keep on modifying websites to make it more appealing and user friendly. Prior knowledge of Java Script, JQuery, HTML, CSS and web programming is required to get into this role.
Social Media Executive and Social Media Manager
The basic requirement for this role is lot of knowledge about all social media platforms and lot of creativity as the role of social media executive/manager is to keep a check on the latest social media trends and further develop social media strategies accordingly. He has to regularly co-ordinate and directs the content team and client servicing team in creating quality content or video etc.
SEO Executive/Expert
A well designed website is of no use if the customers /consumers cannot reach the website easily. The role of hires SEO executives/experts is to promote the company’s website all over the web. They have to make sure that the content on the website is search friendly. Further they conduct keyword research, research about SEO tools, build sitemaps etc. So overall they are responsible for getting more traffic on the website and improving the Google rankings.
PPC/SEM Expert
The responsibility of PPC/SEM expert is to create ads, manage PPC keywords, split ad groups, refine landing pages, generate reports, provide suggestions for ad copies and graphics etc.They through ads and all, generate a lot leads for the company.
Content Marketer
Content marketer is someone who creates content for the websites ensuring that it has all the qualities of going viral. He co-ordinates with other teams and takes their feedbacks and incorporates their inputs in content, following content trends, etc. He further ensures the promotion of content through SEO. So basic requirement for this role is not only lot of creativity but also a strong hold on impeccable knowledge of English language.
