Dear Prime Minister,
It is with great concern that I am compelled to inform you that the surge in rape incidents in the country is a matter of grave concern.
On one hand, we want women to come forward and contribute in the nation’s growth but the lack of safety provided to them on the streets of ‘Mother’ India is deplorable.
I urge you to adopt aggressive punishments for those who commit such a crime, perhaps one on the lines of what is given in Saudi Arabia. Human Rights should not be a constraint as they apply to humans and not hooligans!
While government officials can provide security to the daughters of their houses, we, the common people face a hard time when our sisters, mothers, daughters step out of the house (Owing to such incidents), Mr Prime Minister, the fact that the recent rape incident in Mumbai occurred around the festival of ‘rakshabandhan‘ is a mockery in sorts. It is high time that you set an example so that no one can even dare to think of such a misdeed.
