Amidst all confusion atleast there was a silver lining with the idiotic ordinance being withdrawn. I wonder though had it been anyone else other than Rahul Gandhi vehemently opposing the foolishness of an ordinance; the fate would have been the same. The ordinance was a slap on the face of voters as if the governement wanted to say we know you are most likely not going to elect us again so we might as well do whatever the hell we feel like even the timing conspicuously close to Lalu’s date with destiny was unabashed and unapologetic.
Well the ordinance was withdrawn and Mr Yadav ( it feels strange even calling him Mr Yadav) sent to jail. I am not sure though how long he will stay inside and as it is we notoriously forget quickly and forgive in a jiffy. Well I mean my state kept Lalu Yadav in power for 15 dark years, when I say dark it really was dark with little or no electricity(although it was a brilliant excuse not to study) and abundance of criminals. Hell we even elected Rabri Devi as our CM. Bihar was an investment paradise for kidnappers, we had criminals from all over the country establishing headquarters there (not that we were any short of home grown ones) since the capital required was less, government policies were favouring business, cheap labour was available and infrastructure was suited to perfection with desi Kattas readily available.
Roads famously akin to Mr. Om Puri’s face which did not allow law enforcement agencies to reach to safe havens of criminals not that they wanted to anyway and also sometimes these safe havens were the most famous addresses of Patna. All in all a ROI an investment firm would kill for. To have spent my childhood where every second day some school mate of mine was kidnapped (studied in DPS where who’s who in pPatna sent their kids and hence attracted majority of the investment), it was embarrassing to have your mother accompany you to the bus stop in class 8th, 9th even though only an incompetent kidnapper would have even looked at me. The professionals that they were they would have know ROI on me was abysmal. There were several other towering achievements of the Lalu-Rabri household but the less said the better.
So Laluji no matter how many years you spend in jail it would not compensate for the terrible darkness that you subjected us to and with all the cash you have piled up over the years I am sure your lawyers, creme de la creme of the country would get you out sooner than later. I just hope feebly though that karma catches up with you but then again Karma is not that expensive for Swiss bank accounts…
