An outstanding and out of box initiative taken by Manipur government’s which emphasis on ‘No School Bag Day’, wherein decision was made after considering the long term physical and mental effects of carrying heavy school bags every day by young students. And, also for focusing on imparting extracurricular skills. All working Saturdays for students of classes one to eight, including the government, government-aided, and private schools in a bid to promote other skills apart from textbooks.
So many years have pass wherein students curved their backs due to heavy bags. These bags are also heavy, but students are so used to carrying bags with no real solutions for it, but now we should thank the government, for pulling down that load from kids back.
In the changing world, we must give some liberty to children. After due consideration, the education department took the decision,” said chief minister N Biren Singh.
With this initiative students with more time for other activities, including games, sports, extra co-curricular activities that help students in personality development, the release said. The government has also directed the schools to ensure that students take part in additional co-curricular activities, games, and sports, recreation, and make the school a more joyful place for learning on all working Saturdays.
