The Karnataka
Regional Engineering College (KREC)
was established in 1960 and it became The National Institute of Technology
Karnataka (NITK) in
2002. NITK is set in a lush green 250
acre campus. The campus is a rare one as it is set by the shores of Arabian Sea, and has a private beach,
including a lighthouse.

The Institute is a completely residential campus with hostel facility for
over 5000 students including separate blocks for girls. All the hostel rooms
have been provided with high speed broadband and Wi-Fi internet
connectivity.

At the undergraduate level (B. E. / B.
Tech.), this institute offers 740 seats in 10 different branches. Selections to
these seats is done on the basis of a student’s All India Rank in the JEE Main
