National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela is a centrally funded engineering college located in the steel city of Rourkela in Odhisa. The college established in the year 1961, with the name Regional Engineering College Rourkela (REC Rourkela). The NIT, Rourkela is one of the 30 NIT created in India and recognised as the institute of national importance by the NIT Act, 2007. The Institution also runs management programmes.
It has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE). It has also received accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
