National Institute of Technology, Manipur
NIT Manipur started its first session on 1st August, 2010 with the three
branches of Engineering-Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics
& Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering. It is
presently functioning in its temporary Campus at Takyelpat, Imphal. The State
Bank of India an ATM, which will be operating from the Institute campus. The
Punjab National Bank has also opened another ATM counter in the premises of the
Institute. Presently there are two Boys’ hostel and one Girl’s hostel with
limited rooms.
The institute has
acquired 341.5 acres of land in Langol, Imphal. Different development
programmes have been undertaken for establishment of well-equipped laboratories
and library, expansion of computer facilities. Construction of temporary
Administrative and Academic buliding has been started at the Permanent Site.
Studying at NIT MNP
At present there is an intake of 150 students per year out of which 50%
seats are reserved for the students from Manipur and the rest 50% seats are
reserved for the students from the other states of India.
NIT Manipur has the following academic departments:
Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)
Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)
Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)
Basic Sciences and Humanities
Civil Engineering (CE)
Mechanical Engineering (ME)
The institute offers B.Tech and PhD degrees in the above
mentioned departments.
MSc in Chemistry and Mathematics was introduced in the
2014-15 academic session.
Life beyond the classroom
Ougri is the cultural
and technical festival of NITM. The
annual sport day is a much anticipated event.
Placement History
The placements at NIT MNP are getting on track with the first
batch of B.Tech graduates entering the corporate world.
