National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur
Regional Institute of
Technology was established on 15th August 1960 under the REC scheme. On 27th December 2002, RIT Jamshedpur was
converted to National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur. The campus is a self-contained one. It is
located on the outskirts of Jamshedpur on 320 acres of sprawling, wooded land. It
is a perfect blend of green country-land and industrial area.
The campus encompasses the Main building, the Library, the
Computer Center, 11 hostels (9 Boys hostels and 2 Girls hostels), staff
quarters, Guest House, a Students Gymkhana, a Post-office, a State Bank of
India branch, two ATMs, central store and a dispensary. The hostels and
departments are connected with high speed wireless LAN. The institute maintains
courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton and tennis. Apart from this, it
also has cricket, hockey and football grounds.

& Industrial Engineering.
Continuing Education– The Institute offers a Twelve Semester course in
Mechanical and Electrical disciplines under the Non-formal B.Sc. Engg. Education Programme.
Life beyond the classroom
Ojass is the annual techno-management festival of the college.The
various events in OJASS are Technical Paper presentation, Robotics, Coding,
circuit design, simulation, quizzes and the list goes on. Utkarsh is the annual cultural festival of the college. TECHNICA is the annual national
symposium fest of Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Top
Guns is the first aero-design team of the college
Placement History
The institute has
always done well on the recruitment front. Its placement history is an
impressive one. The recruitment drive for the year 2013-14 have seen 504
students placed out of 601 mid way through the season.
