The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, is one of India’s deemed universities. The application process for the 2017-2018 academic session for Doctorate of Medicine and Master of Surgery (DM/MCh) along with Doctor of Medicine (MD) has commenced. The application forms will be available on the official website of NIMHANS all the way till January 31, 2017.
After the registration is closed, there will be an entrance examination each candidate needs to take. The online examination will be held on March 25 and 26. The examination will be followed by the announcement of results. During the first week of June, personal interviews and counselling sessions will be conducted for candidates who clear the entrance test.
The course is expected to commence on July 1, 2017. However, the last date for the admission process is July 7. NIMHANS offers MD in Psychiatry among post-graduation courses along DM and MCh.
In order to be eligible to seek admission in NIMHANS for a post-graduate course, one needs to have a valid MBBS degree or a degree of equal weight. For DM and MCh, one must have an MBBS along with an MD or MS. There are a total of 10 seats in MCh, 32 in DM and 37 in MD.
