NIFT is the abbreviation for the National Institute of Fashion Technology. It is one of the supreme educational institutions in our country for research, study and development in the field of fashion. It functions under the government’s Ministry of Textiles and has as many as 16 campuses across the country.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Delhi, has recently released a notification mentioning the invitation of applications for the recruitment of a few posts which include- Junior Engineer (both civil and electrical), Assistant Database Administrator and Computer Engineer for five years on a contract basis. All interested candidates must apply at the earliest before the stipulated deadline.
The applications shall be accepted online, and candidates may apply through the official website of NIFT, which is www.nift.ac.in. The application process began on the 1st of October 2019 and is supposed to end on the 29th of November, latest by 5.30 in the evening. Past this deadline, no applications shall be accepted as the online application portal will be closed.

This recruitment is being conducted to fill in a total of 30 vacant posts. There are 6 vacancies for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), 10 vacancies for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical), 13 vacancies for Computer Engineer and only 1 vacancy for Assistant Database Administrator. Candidates may check the pdf of the official notification to see if they match the eligibility requirements for the various posts and apply accordingly.
The age limit for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) is minimum 25 years and maximum 35 years. For the post of Computer Engineer, it is between 25 to 40 years. For Assistant Database Administrator it is up to 35 years. Candidates will be recruited and selected on the basis of a screening test or a written exam after being shortlisted. For certain posts, the written exam may also be followed by an interview to assess the reasoning ability of the candidates.
Educational qualification and experience are very important aspects of assessing candidates for a particular job. For the vacancies mentioned above, NIFT has also set certain bars on the minimum educational qualification and experience expected of a candidate. These criteria are mentioned in the official notification and should be taken note of.
As far as the application fee is concerned, it is non-refundable and has to be paid after the form filling or else the application will stand disqualified. The application fee for the post of Assistant Database Administrator is Rs. 1000/- while for the other 3 posts it is Rs. 500/- each.
