The results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG) 2017, held from December 5 to 13, 2016 will be announced on January 15, 2017. The examination was conducted by the National Board of Education (NBE) in 41 cities and across 86 centres. The NEET-PG helps candidates seek admissions in Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Post Graduate Diploma (Medical) and Master in Dental Surgery MDS courses. These courses are offered at private, government and state-run medical colleges.
The exam result will be declared on the NBE official website. The NEET-PG examination has replaced all the other entrance tests conducted by the State Government.
There is a 50% seat-reservation under the All-India-category quota and a few under the state quota for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses, excluding Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir. However, private institutions like AIIMS, New Delhi; PGIMER, Chandigarh; SGPGIMS, Lucknow; JIPMER, Puducherry; NIMHANS, Bengaluru and Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum have their own designated examinations.
The dates for the counseling sessions are yet to be announced.
