The last date of registration for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG 2017 is approaching and the candidates who have made mistakes while filing their application forms can make necessary changes before the last date, November 7, 2016. Although changes can be made in most of the fields in the registration form, candidates will not be able to make changes to their basic personal details such as ‘Name’ and ‘Category’, once they submit their application.
Talking to PaGaLGuY, one such applicant Nazreen Fathima informed that she had not found any specific details about the editable information while she was filling her application form. “I belong to OBC category but I filled the form under General category by mistake. Once, I realized this, I called the NBE (National Board of Examination) helpline number and they informed that I cannot change it,” said Nazreen.
Although there is a mention of the fact that candidates cannot change their category option in the website under ‘Registration Guide’ section, there is no mention of the same in the official notification released by NBE. “Candidates can modify other information in the application form but not their name and category. There is no provision of changing the examination location once you are done locking the same as well,” informed officials from NBE. The candidates will not be able to change any information provided by them once the registration window closes on November 7.
Earlier, NBE had extended the last date of registration from October 31, to November 7 in order to allow more medicos to take part in the nationwide entrance examination. There was also an issue with the NBE server that made it difficult for the candidates to complete their registration procedure.
NEET PG is the centralized entrance examination conducted by NBE for admission in MD/MS and PG Diploma courses across the country.
