After the order passed by the apex court on March 31, 2017, giving relief to thousands of NEET applicants, CBSE has opened the application procedure on its website for candidates over 25 years of age. According to a press release issued on the website, it is mentioned that only those aspirants who are over 25 years of age will be able to apply for the examination in this application window. The registration process will get over on April 05, 2017.
There were a lot of court cases and petitions lodged against the decision of CBSE and MCI to put an age cap of 25 years for NEET applications this year, which led to widespread protest and debates. Few of the High Courts in different states had ordered applicants to fill up the NEET UG 2017 form offline in order to register themselves. Such candidates will have to apply online in this application window as well. “Demand Draft of fee given to the CBSE (by the candidates who applied offline) will be refunded to them by post at the address given in their offline application. If these candidates do not apply online, their candidature for NEET UG 2017 will not be considered,” said the official press note released by CBSE.
