NEET 2017: CBSE extends deadline to change test city option, another city added

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date for changing and choosing their test city for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017. Earlier, on March 24, Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister, Prakash Javadekar announced 23 new test cities which increased the total number of test cities for NEET 2017 to 103. CBSE has now added another test city, Nanded in Maharashtra, taking the total number of test cities to 104. The date to change the test cities option on the official website has also been extended to March 31, 2017.

This year, over 11 lakh candidates are taking part in the NEET, which will need a vast number of test centres to accommodate all candidates in a single day of examination. To change the test city option, candidates need to visit the official website and click on the active link ‘Exam City Correction’ at the left hand bottom corner. Candidates need to change their city of choice in the drop box in the application form and they will not be allowed to change it after March 31.

“The list of cities of examination stand modified accordingly. Other provisions and rules contained in the Information Bulletin for NEET UG 2017 will remain unchanged,” pointed out the press release issued by CBSE. With Nanded added to the list of test cities, Maharashtra has the highest number of test cities (11) in which NEET is being conducted this year. The number of test cities for NEET has also surpassed the JEE Mains (103) across the country with this inclusion.
