National Institute of Technology, Warangal (AP Quota) – Cutoffs for 2015

The JEE 2015 Seat Allocation process for the NITs (National Institute of Technology) is finally over and the NITs are scheduled to begin their academic year in the month of August. So, let us now take a look at the cutoffs/closing ranks in 2015 for the different NITs. This was also the first time that the NITs were a part of the Joint Seat Allocation Process that involved other reputed institutions like the IITs, ISM Dhanbad, IIITs and Other GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes).

Formerly known as the Regional Engineering College, Warangal (RECW), it was renamed as the National Institute of Technology, Warangal (NITW) in September, 2002.The institute’s foundation stone was laid in 1959 by the then Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The first of all RECs, this institute started functioning in 1959 with Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering departments. In 2006, the institute started a Bachelors program in Biotechnology. It is located in the newly formed state of Telangana.

Ministry of HRD has approved of 60 seats for the students of Andhra Pradesh at NIT Warangal. this particular quota is known as supernumerary. This batch of students will be considered at par with other students admitted to NIT Warangal for the academic year of 2015-16 and at the completion of the academic year will be awarded the degree by NIT Warangal.
