The preliminary examination for NABARD Assistant examination was conducted on September 29, 2018. It was conducted in online mode for a period of 1 hour. It had 3 sections namely English Language (40 marks), Reasoning Ability (30 marks) and Numerical Ability (30 marks) and for a total of 100 marks. The candidates who were able to clear the cutoff in this exam were allowed to appear for the Mains examination.

In the NABARD Assistants main exam, there were 5 sections in it. It had both objective and descriptive type questions. They are Test of Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge and English Language. The English section alone was a descriptive test with 50 marks and the time duration of 30 minutes. The objective type sections were given time duration of 90 minutes. The total marks for the mains exam were 200.
