1. What are the top challenges
that you are currently working to solve for your institute this year?
In every institute the challenge is to engage with students in the
learning process. MITSOM is a proactive and vibrant b-school which encourages every student
to be an active participant in the learning process. Learning process at
MITSOM reflects diverse ways of learning and applying knowledge; Defines clear
learning goals with high expectation for learning; Measures student
learning to determine whether students have achieved learning outcomes; Feeds data from
assessment back into instruction to encourage continuous improvement in student
learning and mastery of learning outcomes; Assists students
through retention programs in meeting learning goals of management education.
In addition to
this, institute has established Entrepreneurship Center for
creating new ventures and support Family Business Student
Entrepreneurs.
All this has helped
students to achieve the 100% placement at the end of the academic year
and contributed for new venture creation.
2. What according to you have been
your most significant progress your institute has made in the last one year?
Institute has strived for two important elements one Faculty Development for the potential
in creation, knowledge and two, industry interaction is the major
thrust along with signing MOUswith
30 leading corporate and education institutes which includes Central
Governments, Corporate like Barclay’s, Microsoft, TCS, ZF Steering, E-Zest,
Xento, EDI to name a few.This has contributed with 30 leading Top Professionals
on our Academic Advisory Board which includes MD, CEO, CFO, Senior Vice
President and eminent academicians from National Level Management
Institutes.MIT School of Management has established 9 Pocket of Excellence in
the Functional Areas which includes Management Development
Center and Entrepreneurship Center.
3. What are the qualities
you look for in an applicant when shortlisting for your final selections?
Self-Learning Abilities, Self -starter and highly ambitions(Day
Dreamer), Excellent Analytical Ability, Business Acumen, Decision Making
Skills and Potential to become an Entrepreneur or Intrapreneur.
4. What according to you is the one
progressive change that you’d like to see in the management education
scenario in the country today ?
Gone are the days where education was limited to theory and books in four
wall classrooms, with the technological change virtual classrooms, social
media, online program are now the need of an hour. MITSOM is taking a big leap
to initiate this.
