A reward of Rs. 2 lakh was announced by B.Srinivas Chandrasekhar’s father. Srinivas, a student of IIT Bombay (IITB) is missing since October 2015, after he went for a trek to Dhakbahiri.
The person providing any information of the whereabouts of Srinivas could claim the reward. The following report of the incident came to light when PaGaLGuY met local villagers of Sandshi village in Karjat- the trek which Srinivas had scaled.

“Take a villager with you,” was the advice of Sameer Kadam a local at Sandshi. Srinivas, at that point was on his way to Lord Bahiri temple in Dhakbahiri caves. It is a challenging vertical climb to the caves. Locals who frequently visit the temple also travel in groups to avoid mishaps, thus signifying the difficulty of the terrain. Sameer also claimed that, Srinivas was carrying sufficient amount of food packets with him to spend a night at the caves.

On December 11, a young boy from Sandshi village went on his regular trek to the Lord Bahiri temple. He found a partially decomposed corpse in the valley of Dhakbahiri. He informed the villagers and the police. On further investigation, the police found an IIT Bombay Identity card bearing the name of B. Srinivas near the corpse. Kadam also helped the police in carrying the corpse to the ambulance, said, “Srinivas must have started descending from the caves in the dark, and probably met with an unfortunate accident”.

Srinivas’s parents have asked for a DNA profiling to affirm whether the corpse is of their son.
