Site merchandisers at Amazon India control what customers see on the Amazon.in website and the app, and it was exciting to work on a project which impacts the business directly. The hours an intern puts into work at Amazon India are definitely endless, but the learning curve is probably the steepest, with learning and un-learning involved through the work, every day. At Amazon India, we breathe data and attempt to use it to understand our customers in the best way we can. Each day, as an intern was involved in meaningful work and my initiatives were treated as valuable contributions to the company.
My first-year stint at MICA bolstered my experience at Amazon India through courses like Consumer and Buyer Behavior, Digital Marketing and Business Transformation, Strategic Brand Management and Research Methodology. The internship enabled me to think through the customer’s lens, identify needs and implement creative solutions, backed by strategy and data.
