Chinmay Ghanekar and Aman Framewala, the two MHT-CET 2016 toppers, have been allotted a seat in Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai, in Round 1 of CAP (Central Allocation Process). Both aspirants from Mumbai have scored 199 marks in CET PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths). Chinmay has been placed in the Mechanical Engineering branch and Aman in the Computer Engineering branch. On the day of the CET results, PaGaLGuY had contacted the toppers to know where their college preferences lie. Both students had VJTI as their top priority for their respective fields of study. According to Chinmay, “It is either College of Engineering, Pune (COEP) or VJTI, Mumbai.”
In fact, 6 out of the top 10 ranks in MHT-CET have been placed in VJTI. It is no doubt that both top rankers would get their most preferred college in the first round of allocation. However, whether or not they have confirmed their admission can be known only after the reporting period is over. Students have the option to Freeze/ Float/ Slide the seat allotted to them.
