Students seated in M.H. Saboo Siddik College for document verification
The Centralised Admission Process (CAP) 2016 Round 1 document verification process is underway at various colleges across Maharashtra. Students allotted a seat in round 1 have been given thorough instructions about the process and requirements for same. The setting of ARCs (Admission Reporting Centres) and facilities required for the same made it convenient for students to complete the verification process smoothly.
Some students gathered outside an ARC in Mumbai, M.H. Saboo Siddik College of Engineering spoke about how they didn’t have to spend much time and money locating or travelling to the ARC. There are about 112 ARCs across the state, making it fairly convenient for students to report at a nearby reporting centre. Besides, as per data released by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), certain guidelines have been laid for colleges deemed as ARCs. Thus, proper technology and facilitation is mandatory at such colleges . Rida Choudhary, a student reporting at M.H Saboo Siddik for document verification, said, “There is seating arrangement inside for students and parents. The waiting time is less and if your documents are in order, you’ll be done in a couple of minutes.”
Students have also been asking their doubts about the allocation process at the ARCs . Since not many students have received any orientation about the CAP process, some ARCs in Mumbai are counselling a few students through the process. Some ARCs have set up information desks for the same.
“About 80% of the students who confirm their appointment online, turn up for verification at the scheduled time and date,” said an admission authority at Saboo Siddik. The other students have been asked to reschedule a new time for reporting.
