Maharashtra Forest Department (MFD) is entrusted with the role of conservation and development of the State’s forests spread over about 20 percent of its geographical area. Forests play an important role in the economy at local, regional and national levels, by contributing to the basic needs of the poor forest dwellers including tribals, meeting requirements of forest-based industries and most importantly in maintaining the ecological balance.
The Maharashtra Forest Dept. has invited candidates for the Forest Guard positions. The details of these vacancies are as follows :

Essential Qualification : Candidate should have completed Matriculation(10th).
Candidate should fulfil the physical criteria required for the post.
Remuneration (In Rs. per month) : 5,200 – 20,200 + Grade Pay 1,800/-
Maximum age limit (as on 30-06-15) : Candidate should not be more than 25 years old. Age relaxation is available for SC/ST candidates.
Method of selection : Selection of the candidates will be based upon Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
