Kota gears up to combat stress among students

In an increasingly stressful environment, the coaching city of Kota is gearing up to defeat stress among students. Institutes and hostels have started yoga and meditation classes and many are also running motivational sessions between lectures.

About
1.25 lakh students from all over the country come to Kota for coaching every
year. Most of these students stay alone in Kota during this period. The
pressure they face to perform in their studies lead to stress. This has brought
the coaching institutes to initiate several measures that help reduce it.

Allen
Career Institute, Kota, has recently started regular Yoga and Meditation
Classes at their campuses, alongwith the coaching. Naveen Maheshwari, Director,
Allen Career Institute, said that the Yoga classes are run during mornings and
evenings. “Yoga and meditation instil positivity and freshness in students,
which is the key for education and student life,” he said.

Namrata
Sharma, a student from Varanasi, said that she achieved mental peace after
attending the yoga classes and now she will try to better herself in it. Maheshwari
also claimed that Allen is now running short cartoon movies during the breaks
in classes to help students de-stress mid-lecture, and also organizing ‘Samasya
to Samadhan’ sessions to address their problems.

Nitin
Vijay, Director of Motion IIT classes, Kota, told PaGaLGuY that they recently
organized an orientation session for faculty members, where an International
Psychologist disseminated information on how to keep students stress free during
education.

Similarly,
AK Tiwari, Head of Administration at Bansal Classes, Kota, told PaGaLGuY that
their institute’s authorities keep having personal interactions with students
to know their stress levels and try to keep them stress free.

Resonance
Institute, Kota, is also organizing motivational sessions for reducing student
stress, informed Nilesh Gupta, Head of their Pre-foundation Career Career
Program. He said that recreational activities including sports are also
available at the institute for students.

Career
Point Institute, Kota, also organizes such stress management seminars regularly.
Chairman and Managing Director of Career Point, Pramod Maheshwari, said that he
would be taking a seminar soon on “How to ensure Stress Free success along with
Class 12”.

The
hostels where students stay have also geared up for reducing stress. Gajendra
Yadav, President of the Hostel Association of Kota, told PaGaLGuY that recently
some hostels have started yoga classes for helping those students who get less
time for workouts or exercises.
