Upbeat with the success in several medical and engineering examinations, Kota Coaching industry is hoping for around 20% growth in admissions this year.
After phenomenal success in the IIT-JEE, AIIMS and AIPMT results this year, Kota Coaching industry is eyeing growth in coaching students’ turnout to Kota for medical and engineering entrance examinations this year. More than 1,25 lakh students from all over the country are reported to have taken coaching from different institutes in Kota last year. Chairman and Managing Director of Career Point Institute, Kota, Pramod Maheshwari told that their institute alone has witnessed around 15% growth in admissions so far and the trend is likely to continue throughout the year. Last year the number of coaching students at their institute were around 16000, which is likely to cross 18000 this year. Citing reasons for growth of coaching admissions, Maheshwari said that the quality of education, word of mouth, appreciation by students, satisfaction of the students and discipline of Kota coaching are the major reasons behind the rise in admissions in Kota.
Naveen Maheshwari of Allen Career Institute also confirms increase in coaching students this year. He said that their institute had around 66000 students in Kota last year who had taken coaching for IIT-JEE and several medical entrance examinations and now that number would further grow as Allen Institute had given toppers in IIT-JEE and medical entrance examinations last year. He claimed to achieve atleast 20% growth this year. However, he asserted that the retest of AIPMT has delayed the academic session for medical entrance examinations which has affected the AIPMT coaching admissions, but the new batches of AIPMT at their institute will certainly see increased number of students. Resonance Eduventures Private Limited, named famous Institute of Kota, also claimed 20% growth in coaching industry of Kota.
Coaching industry gurus of Kota cite augmentation of Rs 500 Crore turnover in last year’s annual turnover of around Rs 2500 Crores of Kota Coaching. Kota has more than half a dozen big coaching institutes including Allen Career Institute, Resonance Eduventures, Bansal Classes, Career Point Institute, Vibrant Institute, Motion and others.
One coaching student named Vikas Kumar from Bihar, who had recently taken admission in a coaching institute for medical entrance examination, said that the success of Kota Coaching which is not a hidden fact has lured him towards Kota.
A parent of a coaching aspirant, Shyamal Verma, informed that he moved form Orrisa to Kota for his daughter’s engineering entrance examinations as he does not want to take chances for her selection this year.
