The first round of seat allocation conducted by JoSAA for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs will come to an end today, July 5, at 5 pm. None of the 10,575 seats in IITs made available for
admission this year are vacant according to Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
Prof K V Krishna, Chairman, JEE Advanced 2016 said, “New vacancy will be created if seats which were allocated in the first round are not claimed by candidates by today evening.” Krishna added, “The process of seat allocation will continue till all seats in NITs are also filled.”
Unlike last year, admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs for this academic year is being carried out by a single body, JoSAA.
