Vrunda Rathi, the All India Rank (AIR) 1 in Girls’ category from Nashik, Maharashtra is also a classical Flute player. With a score of 312/360, she wants to study at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore over the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). She intends to pursue her Bachelor in Science (BSc) from IISc, Bangalore, as she aspires to be a Researcher, though she is yet to pick up a major. However, this is the least of her worries as of now. In the midst of preparing for JEE Advanced 2017, the celebrations have already started. Rathi’s mother received a call from CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) Chairman RK Chaturvedi, congratulating her on her daughter’s JEE Main’s performance.
A student of Loknete Vyankatrao Hiray Arts‚ Science and Commerce College, Vrunda Rathi AIR 1 (Girls’ category) shared her JEE Main 2017 journey with PaGaLGuY. In her own words…
I started preparing for JEE Main from class 11, I think if one is dedicated and determined towards cracking JEE, two years are sufficient. I studied at IITians Pace, Nashik branch for two years, and apart from that, I did self-studies at home. Whenever my routine would become stressful, I played the flute to relax, and it always helped. I want to become a Researcher in the field of Science, and IISc Bangalore will give me that opportunity. I believe the IITs are better for Engineering.
Rathi scored 321 out of 360 marks in JEE Main 2017, with 105 in Physics, 106 in Chemistry and 110 in Mathematics. Her overall AIR is 71.
