Often a most common question that arises in our students is “Why do I have to understand study and learn Psychology, Organsiation Behaviour and Human resource Management subjects while my specialization is going to be Finance, Marketing, Operations Management or International Business?” And the answer that they will get from us is very simple, “Yes you need to make a concrete base of your specialization. But more than that it is essential to understand and analyse the human beings who will be their superiors, team mates and subordinates and learning Managing people and organsiation subject will help them in the long run”.
One of the most interesting chapters in HR is Stress at workplace and how to ward it off. Stress is something that every human being faces right from birth. The problem arises and will start affecting us only when we are not able to cope with the stress. One of the major stress factors in work place is deadlines or targets. It creates immense pressure on individuals, which leads to adverse physiological as well psychological reactions. And in almost all studies that were conducted with regard to stress at work one of the optimum solutions is that “make work fun”.
And in ITM we are destined to make this happen. We try to make our students corporate worthy. Our students go through a strenuous vigorous and awespiring course schedules. A typical semester in ITM varies from class room teaching, case study analyses, personality analyses, management skit , games to live projects and examinations. In between these we tend to make our students relaxed as well enjoy the session by celebrating various festivals and important holidays in the campus. From decoration to taking care of chief guest to toiling in the sun to play cricket ……… yes we do all that.
It makes the students relax from the routine to work on all fun filled facts. And hence when they get back to the main stream it’s easier for them to manage work. Great works can be achieved by individuals when their body as well mind, work together and the possibility for those are immense in the campus and it’s in the students hand to utilize it to the maximum.
