1. What
are the top challenges that you are currently working to solve for your
institute this year?
Sharda is the only university in India to have more than 27 %
international students from 46 countries and academic collaboration with more
than 80 global universities. This bring a global cultural at the campus and
provides global exposure to national students by peer to peer learning in and
outside classroom with students from different countries.
Sharda is aiming to have 50 % international students and
academic tie up with more than 100 global universities for student, faculty and
research exchange. This year we will open more courses for international
students.
2. What
according to you has been your most significant progress your institute has
made in the last one year?
Sharda University keeps aligned with the
industry trends. The new course of MBA Banking services in association with
Times Pro launched. In past also we have launched the courses with Tech
Mahindra for B.tech students .Such type of courses are industry oriented and
prepares the students for the corporate world.
We also have high end technology labs with certain companies such as
Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Cadence and Tevtron to provide industry exposure.
3. What
are the qualities you look for in an applicant when short listing for your
final selections?
The selection procedure is becoming more stringent
year-over-year to filter out the best talent among the mass. Apart from
excellent academic history, student’s communication skills, extra-curricular
activities, analytical thinking, critical reasoning, etc. are the pivotal
qualities that plays key role in their final selection.
4. What
according to you is the one progressive change that you’d like to see in the
management education scenario in the country today?
Management
education should not be limited to theory and books confined in four wall classrooms.
Our primary focus is to provide industry oriented practical learning to bridge
industry-academia gap and promote entrepreneurship. Also, our ultimate
objective is to create global citizen rather than a management expert.
