The JEE 2015 Seat
Allocation process for the IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology)
is finally over and the IIITs are scheduled to begin their academic year in the
month of August. So, let us now take a look at the cutoffs/closing ranks in
2015 for the different IIITs. This series of articles will help you understand
the cutoffs/closing ranks for selection to each of the various branches in the
different IIITs in 2015. This will also give you some idea about the expected
cutoffs/closing ranks for admission to the different IIITs in 2016.

Candidates were
finally selected to the IIITs on the basis of their performance in the JEE Main
2015 and their performance in the Class XII exam. This was also the first time
that the IIITs were a part of the Joint Seat Allocation Process that involved
other reputed institutions like the IITs, ISM Dhanbad, NITs and other GFTIs
(Government Funded Technical Institutes).

The Indian
Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) is set up at Kalyani, Nadia District
West Bengal by Government of India (MHRD), Government of West Bengal and
Industry Partners on a Not-for-profit Public Private Partnership (N-PPP) basis.
The IIIT, Kalyani is funded in the ratio of 50:35:15 respectively by the above
three parties. Additionally, the Government of West Bengal has lent support to
the Institute by granting 50 acres of land for setting up the Campus. The
Industry Partners of IIIT Kalyani are Coal India Ltd, JSW Steel Ltd and Rolta
Foundation. Selections to these seats are done on the basis of a student’s All India
Rank in the JEE Main 2015.
