The Union Public Service Commission has issued the notification for the Engineering Services Examination 2015 for recruitment of candidates to various services/ posts under the following categories:
Category I – Civil Engineering
Category II – Mechanical Engineering
Category III- Electrical Engineering
Category IV- Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
Minimum educational qualification required:
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognised university or equivalent.

Age limit:
(a) Candidates should be between 21 years and 30 years old as on 01st January 2015.
(b) The maximum age limit is relaxable for OBC and SC/ST category candidates by 3 years and 5 years respectively.
Scheme of examination:
The Engineering Services Examination has two different parts. The components of the two parts are as follows:
Part I – Written Examination
Section I – objective type test
General Ability Test: 200 marks, Two hours
Paper I & II: 200 marks each, Two hours each
Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering
(Note: In objective type papers, for every wrong answer, one-third of the marks allotted to the question will be deducted.)
Section II – conventional essay type test
Paper I & II: 200 marks each, Three hours each
Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering.
The total marks allotted for Part I of the examination (including objective and conventional tests) are 1000.
Part II – Personality Test
The Personality Test carries a maximum of 200 marks.
