India Post, a government-operated postal system in India has released its official notification for the recruitment of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) vacant posts. The Department of Post has been the backbone of the country’s communication system for the last 150 years and operates the largest postal network in the world. Through this recruitment process, India Post will fill 10,066 vacancies in various postal circles
and Units of India Post in different states of India. Interested Candidates can apply online for the India Post GDS Postal Recruitment 2019-20 through the official website from 5th August 2019 till 4th September 2019.
The Gramin Dak Sevak is responsible for the sale of stamps and stationery, conveyance and delivery of mail and other such duties assigned by Postmaster.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have passed the Class10th exam from a recognized board of School Education with passing marks in Mathematics and English. They should also have studied the local language till Class 10.
- Basic knowledge of computer with training certificate for at least 60 days. If the candidate has studied the subject till Class 10 as a part of the curriculum in the school, no additional certificate will be required.
Age Limit
- The applicant should be from 18 to 40 years of age.
- Age relaxation applies to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD/ EW Candidates as per rules.
