Unlike some people who have an experience of staying away from their hometown and family, this was the very first time I was doing it. As nerve-wrecking as it was and rightfully should have been, with two months left to end my college life(officially), I will not be able to leave this college without a teardrop. Spreading over 33 acres, the campus has given me much more than just a PGDM degree. I always knew deep down inside that I had potential, but this is where all that came to life and action!
Starting with the Academics, it’s always the first priority. Like many of you reading this, I also came here with a dream of getting a good job and a stable life at the end of two years. Needless to say, that needs efforts from your personal front and IMT Hyderabad will not fall short in any way from their end. Starting from our faculty to administration and corporate connect, IMT Hyderabad has been rated the best amongst the emerging B-Schools of the country.
According to me, a student’s life should never be boring, and I made sure at least my life isn’t for these two years! I have been an active member of the Social Responsibility Club – PAHEL as well as the Point of Contact of the Core Committee of the Marketing Club- Mercatus Mantra and the Alumni Relations Committee at IMT Hyderabad. Associations are always important and my associations with these three clubs and committees have evolved me as a person and as a leader. Driving a Club or a Committee, working shoulder to shoulder with your contemporaries also represents how you drive your life to a great extent. These associations also help you build a very strong bond with people around you as well as add to your contact base and help strengthen the Brand that IMT is. In my opinion, a student of a particular institution is the flag bearer of the brand, the culture that the Institute upholds.
Coming to one of the most important aspects of entering a PGDM course- PLACEMENTS. I am currently placed in Deloitte as an Analyst under the Knowledge Services vertical. The number of companies visiting campus has definitely increased manifold over the years so has the number of roles being offered by the respective companies. The students get ample of chances when it comes to bagging their own choice of roles. Previously, there was limited opening for Human Resources, Analytics and Operations but our batch has seen an increase in roles relating to these domains as well.
IMT’s campus life is buzzing with events of different clubs and committees. To mention Buzzaar organized by Mercatus Mantra, Finacea Nights organized by the Finacea, the Finance Club, Food Fiesta organized by the Entrepreneurship cell were few of the intra college events conducted by the Clubs. The Alumni Relations Committee conducts the Alumni Meet where Alumni from different batches come together and have a gala time. Not to forget, the Annual Management Fest, Impelz is also a time that all wait for.
A home away from home, IMT Hyderabad has really helped me find who I am individually and around others which will help me conduct myself in the corporate ocean very soon. Adding to that, the institute has helped me become a better person inculcating a persona of giving back to the society and mankind in different ways.
It is very difficult to compile two very important years of your life in a few paragraphs, but I sincerely hope this helps the upcoming students to get a direction, more so TOWARDS IMT Hyderabad!
