The International management Institute (IMI) Delhi has received the exclusive international accreditation of the Association of MBAs (AMBA). IMI becomes only the fifth management institute in the country, which includes IIM Lucknow and IIM Kozhikode, to obtain this accreditation. A quality accreditation becomes a key differentiator for a Business School as it provides a benchmark for students to make a decision when selecting a business school for pursuing their management education programme.
AMBA is the international impartial authority on post graduate business education. Its accreditation service is considered as the gold standard for all MBA, DBA and MBM programmes internationally and is the hallmark of excellence in management education. To date, the AMBA accreditation covers over 700 programmes spanning 195 business schools globally.
AMBA has very stringent qualifying criteria. Dr. Pritam Singh the Director General of IMI says, “The demands and rigour on the AMBA accreditation process are indeed very exacting as these have to conform to international standards. In fact the focus here is to assess the extent of skills that the students acquire through their management education and the related impact on their learning rather than issues such as the size of class rooms or students”. According to Dr. Singh it is a matter of pride that IMI, Delhi has received this accreditation for a five year term in the first instance, which by itself is quite rare. Adds Dr. Singh, “This accreditation will add to the growing number of students who select IMI as an institute that provides a holistic and well-rounded exposure, for both their professional and personal growth. The AMBA accreditation is a reiteration of IMI’s robustness with respect to its inherent strengths across its alumni fraternity, student community and its corporate partnerships and linkages. Indeed, these have propelled IMI into the exclusive gold category of higher management education benchmarked with stringent international norms.”
According to the management of IMI, this accreditation of its Delhi campus will further reinforce the institute’s growth initiatives which have already seen an impressive uptrend in terms of student enrolments, diversity of courses as well as innovative modules for executive education and management development and training programmes.
The Association of MBAs produces regular research reports that are available to the media on request. These reports which include ‘Intake and Graduate Survey’ and a ‘Biennial Career Survey’ cover a wide range of topics relating to student numbers in the admission cycle , accredited programmes as well as the subject of career and salary progression of MBA students .
