“Memories
are the timeless treasures of the Heart”
IMI-New Delhi organised the National
Alumni Meet’15 on 24th October to reminiscence and dwell in the nostalgia of
memories that once prevailed the campus. Alums from various batches, with some
dating back to the batch of 1985, graced the occasion with their presence and
shared insights about the corporate world with the future managers. With the
Silver Jubilee celebrations of the batch of ’90, Crystal Jubilee celebrations
of the batch of ’00 and the 20 year celebrations of the ’95 batch, the entire
event lit up and reflected the institute’s strong alumni connect.
The meet commenced with the
lighting of the lamp by Dr. Bakul Dholakia,
Director General (IMI, New Delhi); Prof. B.A Metri, Dean Academics and Alumni
Affairs and Mr. Rajeev Dhawan, alumnus of batch of 1988 and President, National
Alumni Association.
Addressing the diverse audience, Dr Dholakia
mentioned about the achievements of both the alumni and the institution and
went on to express his appreciation for the strong alum network of the
institute. He also shared insights about the benefits of the same for both the
alums and the institute. Mr Rajeev Dhawan followed suit by sharing about the
various initiatives of the Alumni Association to strengthen the alumni connect.
Additionally, he also thanked the alumni of all batches for having contributed
significantly for the growth of their alma mater.
Post the inaugural ceremony, Sahil Shah conquered
the audience with his stand-up comedy act. It was followed by an enthralling
performance by the students of IMI, New Delhi. The 8th edition of
“Connexion’15” titled “Synergising Minds”, the annual alumni magazine was
released amidst the celebrations.
Further on, the alumni met with the Academic
Council to interact on various topics and to work towards maintaining a healthy
relation and interaction between the institute and its alumni. Besides, the
alumni also provided suggestions for grooming the present batch so as to make
them industry ready. Several insights were shared by the alums for the
prospective managers, so as to make the transition from B School to corporate
as smooth as possible.
The Alums, having spent a quality time
interacting with the current batch of students, relived their college days. National
Alumni Meet’15 came to an official close with the farewell address followed by
Dinner.
