The organising institute for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) – the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT-R) – released mock tests for each of the 23 branches of the exam.
Candidates can visit the official portal to take the test. Though the website asks for ‘login ID and password’, candidates can just click ‘Sign In’, and they will be directed to the mock.
Candidates must take the test in an exam-like atmosphere. The mock paper has the question palette stating which questions are to be answered, which are answered but marked for review etc; timer which will automatically stop after 180 minutes, also for every wrong answer there will be negative marking.
There will two sections in every paper, one subject specific section for 85 marks, and second, General Aptitude for 15 marks. At the end of the test, the portal will automatically display total marks scored.
