IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Roorkee offers MBA admission based on CAT score. The MBA programme was launched by the institute to reflect the needs of the present-day dynamic business and economic scenario and to enable the candidates to face the challenges of the corporate world.
The candidates who have passed the CAT exam can apply for the admission of MBA programme in IIT Roorkee. The CAT result was announced on 5th January 2019. The shortlisted candidates list for group discussion and personal interview was released on 12th February 2019. The date of the group discussion and interview is scheduled on 1st March to 4th March 2019.
Shortlisted candidates for GD/PI:
The IIT Roorkee has released the provisional list of candidates called for GD/PI for MBA programme 2019. The call letter for the same will be sent through registered email and can also be downloaded from the website.
Initial short listing of candidates will be done based on their performance in the CAT exam and the call letters will be sent seeing the performance in the CAT exam.
The final merit list will be made based on aggregate performance in the written exam i.e. CAT exam, followed by GD/PI and their work experience as per the respective weight age i.e. given below:
- CAT percentile – 65%
- Group discussion – 10%
- Interview – 20%
- Work experience – 5%

Admission process:
The candidates who are short listed will be eligible for the interview and group discussion. The call letter will be sent to the candidates and if there is a delay of the call letter or any postal delay the institute will not be responsible.
At the time of interview/Group Discussion the candidates must bring them the originals and one set of self attested copies of the following documents:
- Scorecard of CAT exam
- Certificates and mark sheets of all years/semesters of the qualifying exam
- Certificates and mark sheets of high school. Secondary school or equivalent exam
- Category certificate of OBC/ST/SC/PD issued by the competent authority on the prescribed format by the government of India and medical certificate to support the physically handicapped status, if applicable
- Candidates belonging to OBC category must give the Xerox copy of category certificate as per government of India.
- Certificate in respect of work experience, if any is required.
The merit list will be prepared based on CAT score, Interview, group discussion and work experience which will be drawn for offering provisional admission to the MBA program. The provisional admission will be sent through the post at the respective mailing address of the successful candidates. It will be available on the official website also.
